Plant Manager


Ocean Recruitment is a recruitment company dedicated to the chemical and raw materials industry. For one of our clients we are searching for a Plant Manager. Our client is a global producer and supplier to a variety of markets, such as the home care market.

Work location

Netherlands, Amersfoort Area


Operations management:
- Drive production efficiency, increasing output per man/hour and manufacturing capacity
- Oversee and coordinate Manufacturing, Logistics, QHSE functions and Facility Management
- Set department/division goals based on the company's plans
- Develop and manage operations budgets, capital investments
- Effective management of production including capacity planning
- Report on business operations and performance metrics

Maintain QHSE standards:
- Responsible contact person for the BRZO authorities and leading person in the related audits
- Provide an environment and structure in which employees can work safely and effectively
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and environmental requirements

Staff management:
- Authorised representative at Chamber of Commerce and for BRZO
- Recruit, train, develop and motivate employees
- Supervise other managers and staff

Process improvements:
- Drive implementation of Sales & Operations planning procedures working in partnership with Commercial team
- Cooperate with regional and global counterparts to drive best-practice improvement initiatives
- Implement lean manufacturing techniques


You have a proven 'Safety First' approach and a continuous drive for improvement. Further more:

- Previous chemical plant management experience
- Experience with Supply Chain, Technical Maintenance or QHSE
- Experience in setting up and implementing Lean manufacturing (Six-Sigma qualification desirable)
- Experience in setting up SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
- Experience in managing Production Line implementation projects
- Demonstrable record of successful delivery and management of the QHSE agenda

- Fluent in Dutch and English
- Bachelor degree or higher
- Chemical engineering background required
